LESLIE NERO, violin, is a native Washingtonian. She spent many years in Ontario and Quebec, Canada, performing in modern orchestras before returning to the Washington, D.C. area. She is an active freelance musician in region on both modern and Baroque violin. Nero has participated in early music festivals such as Tafelmusik's Baroque Summer Institute, the International Baroque Institute at Longy in Boston, the Baroque Performance Institute at Oberlin, and the Vancouver Early Music Festival. She has been a member of The Bach Sinfonia since 1998 and has performed with Opera Lafayette, Modern Musick, and the Folger Consort on period instruments. In addition to being an active performer she also teaches beginning strings for the Alexandria City Public Schools.
